As of the 1st of September 2008, EPMS UK Ltd has achieved its target of being a
CARBON-NEUTRAL Company.

A calculated audit was completed on our Carbon Emission and a Carbon Offset was put into place
involving an annual fee, this being used towards a current project in Brazil where there is a steam turbine running on wood waste from an existing sawmill which is processing timber from a sustainably managed forest.

This new power unit replaced a number of polluting diesel generators,  giving the town of
Itacoatiara, which is not on the national grid, a more reliable power supply.
Also, there are savings in burning the wood waste and not letting it decay, which would produce
Methane, this being a more damaging greenhouse gas than CO2.

This project is part of the Kyoto Clean Development Mechanism run by the United Nations
Framework Climate Committee.

Therefore, EPMS UK Ltd has Kyoto-compliant Carbon Offsets called Certified Emissions Reductions which are supervised through the United Nations and third party audited.

EPMS UK Ltd adhered to the proposed Department of the Environment ( DEFRA ) Code and once the Carbon Offsets have been registered in the UK, they cannot be sold again.

We shall be looking at our Carbon Emission over this coming year with the aim of reducing this even further where possible.

LED Light Bulbs:

DON’T JUDGE AN LED LIGHT BULB BY ITS PRICE!!

LED light bulbs are expensive, but any attempt to save on the up-front cost of LED bulbs can possibly end up being an expensive proposition.
The aged old saying “You get what you pay for” certainly holds true when it comes to LED lighting.
You may have heard recent reports about many of the problems that are now being seen with inexpensively manufactured LED components coming in from overseas.  As far as the consumer is concerned, there are two main segments of LED lights: the semiconductors and the drivers that operate the LED.  Many manufacturers are now overdriving the semiconductors in an effort to produce greater light output. Unfortunately, this process often leads to premature burnout and lumen depletion.

LED Light Bulbs MUST be high quality!

A simple search on the internet for LED light bulbs will bring up hundreds of sites selling LEDs and an even greater number of prices for what seem to be identical products.  With LEDs being a popular but pricey item, many shoppers are going for the lowest price they can find only to be disappointed when their purchase fails to perform as expected.  Quality control at the manufacturing end has everything to do with customer satisfaction at the consumer end.
Most people do not have the time to research the many manufacturers, nor the money to invest to evaluate the many LED products across the globe.
At ledlamps-lighting.com we’ve spent the past two years sorting out the good from the bad with due diligence.  We are now solidifying our relationships with top LED manufacturers and present you with a range of the products they have to offer.
